Working with Simply Waste Solutions to improve compliance and reduce costs

THE CHALLENGE

Simply Waste Solutions is one of the UK’s largest independently-owned waste management companies, with a fleet of 50 vehicles making more than 20,000 collections a week, and managing more than 100,000 tonnes of waste per year.

As it has expanded, Simply Waste Solutions found that its telematics was unable to deliver the range and quality of intelligence it needed to support this sustained growth. The company sought a partner that could deliver a bespoke solution to meet the challenges it faced regarding compliance and reduction of road risk.

THE SOLUTION

CMS SupaTrak worked closely with Simply Waste Solutions to develop a telematics system that would meet the needs of the growing operation. CMS SupaTrak began by installing its hardware in all Simply Waste Solutions’ current vehicles, and arranged for new vehicles to be fitted with the equipment during the build process.

CMS SupaTrak then integrated several of Simply Waste Solutions’ other systems, including the tachograph download and analysis system Aquarius, into the
CMS system. This process not only enabled Simply Waste Solutions to bring legal compliance into a single system but has transformed tachograph reporting and debriefs into a simple paperless process, saving the company considerable amounts of time, effort and valuable resources.

James Capel, CEO of Simply Waste Solutions says:

“Since partnering with CMS SupaTrak, we’ve worked closely with Jason and his team, and our results speak for themselves. We’ve reduced our tachograph infringements, cut our fuel spend and improved our overall work-related road risk against measured KPIs.

“What’s more, we’ve also forged a fantastic relationship with some key people who, like ourselves, are striving to bring revolutionary proactive thinking to bear when dealing with some of the biggest issues connected with logistics: safety, legal compliance and environmental issues.”
