The OWL roadshows return – save the dates

The Optimised Waste and Logistics (OWL) roadshows are back this autumn with a world-class CPD-accredited programme filled with essential knowledge for fleet operators.

The first OWL Roadshow – the NI Waste Expo – will be kicking off in Belfast on October 13 at the Crown Plaza Belfast. The first-ever OWL Ireland follows the NI Waste Expo on October 15 held at the Killashee Hotel.

OWL Scotland will be taking place on October 29 at the stunning Mar Hall Hotel and Spa in Bishopton, near Glasgow. Last but certainly not least, is OWL Midlands, which takes place at New Hall in Sutton Coldfield on November 12.

Social distancing measures will be implemented, and we will remain compliant with all Government COVID-19 guidance and regulations for the UK and Ireland. We will only be able to admit a limited number of attendees due to COVID-19 restrictions, so booking early is advised.

The conference will deal with topics such as air quality, sustainable transport solutions such as electric and hybrid HGVs, fleet and road safety. Exemplary case studies from innovative fleet operators which adopted OWL’s integrated approach will play a very significant role in the programme.

Barry Sheerman MP

Barry Sheerman, MP for Huddersfield, and Chairman of the OWL Partnership commented: ‘I am thrilled that Optimised Waste Logistics has begun hosting events once again. OWL is an organisation that I chair and partnered with on many excellent social enterprises and cutting edge projects which all have real and tangible impacts in the area of sustainability. Their exhibitions are always hubs for ideas, innovation and energy.

‘I look forward to attending them in the future and working with them on several pioneering initiatives, such as the Westminster Commission for Road Air Quality.’

Exhibition and vehicle display

The OWL events will also feature an exhibition with the latest technology and outside vehicle area including the eCollect electric RCV from Dennis Eagle. Exhibitors including Dennis Eagle, CIWM, Terberg Matec, Johnston Sweepers, Hako, VPG Onboard Weighing, Romaquip, Smartwitness and MOBA Mobile Automation have already signed up for the events, but some spaces are still free.

The safety of all staff, exhibitors and attendees at our OWL Roadshows have been paramount in the process of arranging and putting together each event. In order to reassure all parties, we have put together an OWL 2020 risk assessment, available here.

The events are promising to be full of networking and learning from peers. They are free to attend for qualified professionals who purchase and operate fleet.
