Wavin Group choose SupaTrak!
October-2005
Wavin Group was founded in 1955 and is now one of the world’s largest manufacturers of plastic pipe systems and industrial plastics. In the UK, Wavin employ over 800 people with headquarters in Chippenham, Wiltshire and other sites at Brandon, Country Durham, Manchester and Ireland. They supply their OSMA brand plastic pipes and fittings to the utilities, civil and building construction industry and are a leading supplier to the UK water industry for above and below ground drainage products.
Having made the decision to implement asset tracking, Wavin’s Phil Hartfield who is responsible for transport services, spent some considerable time researching vehicle tracking solutions and then trialing short listed supplier’s products.
The SupaTrak team were delighted when Wavin confirmed they had been awarded this very prestigious contract for Wavin’s tractor/trailer fleet, operating out of their Chippenham headquarters.
Phil commented: “We take customer service and operational service levels very seriously as you would expect from a market leading company. Our selection criteria was simple, we wanted to invest in a system that will enable us to provide our customers with the ultimate in customer services that only real time location, visibility and reporting can provide. Cost was certainly an important criteria for us but also we needed a solution that was completely flexible as we intend to expand our mobility platform as a second phase to incorporate full mobile worker synchronization. In short we needed a future proof investment in this important area and SupaTrak fitted the bill.
Although this is a significant investment for our business we expect to get a substantial ROI very quickly through efficiency gains. All of our employees involved in the phase one vehicle tracking roll out realise this is essential to our business requirement and of course our duty of care for our remote workers”.
