Supatrak Customer Orwell Engineering Finds Flexible Vehicle Tracking System Has Many Different Uses

SupaTrak, the vehicle tracking system developed by CMS Global Technologies of Swindon, is increasingly proving the perfect solution for a whole range of companies wishing to control, monitor and protect their mobile assets.

Orwell Engineering chose SupaTrak because it provides the live information the company required to enable it to quickly reschedule and redirect its deliveries and collections, and amend onsite teams as needed.

Liverpool-based Orwell, which has SupaTrak fitted to all it’s vehicles, says the system removes the need to get location information direct from the vehicle operators, saving time and reducing the number of miles travelled.

The lift finishing company and manufacturer of special purpose equipment to the Float Glass industry also uses SupaTrak to verify the number of hours worked, sites visited and that its vehicles are being driven and operated in the correct manner. By doing this, it says it hopes to reduce vehicle wear and tear.

Additionally, the company uses the system’s reports to prepare its on-site operative sheets, removing the need for individuals to submit them by phone, as previously. The SupaTrak reports enable Orwell to accurately determine the hours worked and pay due, reducing delays in the accounts department.

Commenting on the system, company spokesman Steve Martin says: “We initially chose SupaTrak because it had the features we required and were impressed with the quick response to our enquiry. An added bonus was CMS’ flexible end of lease terms, which had proved a sticking point in our research into other vehicle tracking systems.

“I’m happy to say it is doing everything we wanted and a bit more besides. We are saving time and money in everyday operations, and are able to use the information it generates to speed up the administration process. We also charge for private use of company vehicles and, as an added bonus, now we have SupaTrak we are able to do this more accurately,” he adds.

As Orwell Engineering has discovered, SupaTrak is clearly much more than just a tracking device. Low cost and user friendly, the system updates a vehicle’s position every 60 seconds, whilst the web browser UK mapping facility ensures all vehicles are visible at all times. SupaTrak also comes with a comprehensive reporting function that includes start/stop and historic ‘snail trail’ options, so users can see where their vehicles have been, when and at what speed.

Add in some of the other available options such as satellite navigation, telemetry recorders and full European mapping, together with the ability to link SupaTrak to a company’s existing collection devices and back office systems and you have a totally integrated, secure system capable of many additional operational tasks.

But most importantly, its simple, it works, can communicate with almost anything and is cost effective to use.
