SupaTrak helping Clive Wood to deliver on time

SupaTrak, the vehicle tracking system developed by CMS Global Technologies of Swindon, is increasingly proving the perfect solution for a diverse range of companies wishing to manage, control, monitor and manoeuvre their mobile assets more efficiently.

Clive Wood discovered the SupaTrak system during a Google search for tracking devices and says it has dramatically improved the way he runs his business. He has also recommended it to a business colleague and friend who has since installed his entire fleet of 30 vehicles with the SupaTrak service

Clive’s family business runs 44 tonne trucks and is mostly involved with import/export movements in and out of the Humber ports. As the majority of this work involves just-in-time delivery and often involves financial penalties for delays, knowing where the trucks are at any given moment is extremely important.

SupaTrak not only does this in real time, giving the Lincolnshire-based company the chance to make critical changes to the route, it also provides an historic ‘history-trail’ report that Clive can use to prove vehicles have met their daily delivery criteria, and a valuable back-up if for any reason delivery notes are not completed at the time.

“Using SupaTrak has taken the doubt out of our operations and the factual evidence it provides is proving extremely useful to resolve any number of issues about waiting time and other things that impact on our revenue generation and productivity in general,” he says.

“I particularly like the fact that I am able to configure the system to send me an email every time a vehicle leaves base. This in turn provides an unobtrusive additional monitoring facility and quietly assures me all is well or alerts me to the fact that plans may need to be adapted to meet changing circumstances.

In a business like ours that is time critical the system is proving a very cost effective way of keeping our exposure to financial penalties to the minimum,” he adds.

As Clive’s experience demonstrates, SupaTrak is clearly much more than just a tracking device. Low cost and user friendly, the system updates a vehicle’s position every 60 seconds, whilst the centrally-hosted UK mapping facility ensures all vehicles are visible at all times.

SupaTrak also comes with a comprehensive reporting function that includes start/stop and historic ‘history trail’ options, so users can see where their vehicles have been, when and at what speed.

Add in some of the other available options such as satellite navigation, telemetry recorders and full European mapping, together with the ability to link SupaTrak to a company’s existing collection devices and back office systems and you have a totally integrated, secure system capable of many additional operational tasks.

But most importantly, its simple, it works, can communicate with almost anything and is cost effective to use, with no ties to long-term contracts.
