Latest EU regulation EN 12830:1999 means that all cold chain businesses are now required to monitor the exact temperatures of chilled goods throughout the delivery cycle.  Using the latest ZigBee wireless technology, CMS SupaTrak enables cold chain businesses to comply with these regulations and offer their clients a reliable refrigerated logistics service.

The CMS SupaTrak solution uses robust sensors in the refrigerated trailer which send precise temperature information to the SupaTrak black box in the tractor every 5 minutes. This device then sends back temperature data as well as precise location and speed information. Drivers are notified if temperatures move beyond certain thresholds so immediate action can be taken rather than waiting for the end of a journey when a print out shows a change in temperature and the entire load is rejected.

The sensor units are IP67 rated, preventing any moisture entering, even withstanding high pressure water jets during trailer cleaning. They are robust and designed for the rugged logistics environment withstanding potential accidental impact during loading and unloading. The sensors can be flexibly mounted depending on individual applications and multi compartment temperature measurement.

The sensor’s battery has been designed to last over a year allowing for updates to be sent every 5 minutes in an environment of -30ºC. Annual battery replacement and calibration is included with the price. As with all systems from CMS there are no hidden extras for communication, the costs quoted even include installation.
